Scott-Vincent Borba has earned a solid reputation as a forward thinker and creative visionary force throughout his extensive, multi-faceted career in the beauty industry. With over a decade of experience, he has created an impressive track record of success by developing innovative concepts that are recognized across many industries.
Currently, Scott-Vincent is lending his broad perspective on personal care to Toppik, Inc., where he serves as Creative Director and Executive Vice President of Marketing, overseeing product development, retail planning, advertising, social media, a DRTV media campaign and general launch strategies. He is also Founder of Scott-Vincent Borba, Inc., a lifestyle brand on a mission to re-invent and re-define advanced skin care through mineral cosmetics. Scott-Vincent Borba, Inc. first launched on HSN in Fall 2012.
Since graduating with a B.S. degree from Santa Clara University, Scott-Vincent has succeeded as a high-fashion model, TV personality and, most recently, became a licensed esthetician with the aim of understanding skin on a deeper level and furthering his credentials in that category. He cites his move to Los Angeles as a major career stepping-stone – there he achieved beauty-industry success in both the prestige and mass-market sectors in product development, branding and marketing hybrid capacities for companies such as Hard Candy, Neutrogena, P&G/Wella/Sebastian, Shiseido/Joico and Murad, before setting out on his own as Founder of BORBA and Co-Founder of e.l.f. (eyes, lips, face) Cosmetics.
At Toppik, Scott-Vincent is charged with overseeing a complete brand restage for the 30+ year-old hair-thinning solutions leader. As Creative Director, he is involved in new packaging, a new website, promotions, marketing and will also act as spokesperson.
Meanwhile, he continues to drive expansion of his namesake brand, Scott-Vincent Borba, for which he maintains a steadfast philosophy that beauty is best treated from the inside and out. "What I particularly love about beauty," says Scott-Vincent, "Is that it sits right between science and fashion, and draws inspiration from both. You get the rigor and structure of one combined with the glamour and promise of the other. For me, that's the most intriguing and exciting thing in the world.”
The youngest of five children, Scott-Vincent was born in a small farming town in Visalia, California. "I received unequivocal guidance and support from my parents," he remembers, "They encouraged my ambitions to escape the constraints of the small town and create something bigger, something significant of my life."
Scott-Vincent is an active supporter of and global spokesperson for Covenant House California, a non-profit organization providing food, shelter, life-skills counseling and education for youth in need. His dedication to the cause is deeply rooted in the belief that when children are provided with the proper mentorship, tools and spiritual foundation, they will evolve into healthy contributors to society. Scott-Vincent is also a passionate representative for Pancreatic Action Network. Since the passing of his beloved father, he became determined to serve as an advocate for individuals facing this debilitating disease.
Scott-Vincent continues to challenge himself every day by pursuing creative outlets like writing, singing and acting. He shares his beauty philosophy in three books – Makeup for Dummies, Skintervention and upcoming 2013 release, Cooking Your Way to Gorgeous. He’s released a video for his dance track “Skin Deep” and starred in the film No Turning Back, which deals with a re-interpretation of divorce in the 1950s and ‘60s.
